In a move to increase on-campus presence, Infosys has mandated its workforce to work from the office for at least 10 days a month starting March 10, 2025. The company will introduce system interventions to monitor compliance, ensuring that employees adhere to the new hybrid work model

System Interventions to Enforce Hybrid Work Compliance

Infosys, which employs around 323,000 professionals, has directed its technology workforce to limit work-from-home days in line with this new policy. An email from functional heads, seen by the Economic Times, outlined the following:

  • Work-from-home (WFH) days will be restricted via system controls starting March 10, 2025.
  • Non-compliance may impact leave balances, particularly for employees at job levels 5 and below.
  • The move aims to balance flexibility while ensuring effective team collaboration.

A Strategic Shift Towards More On-Campus Presence

Infosys executives emphasize that the hybrid work model remains intact but with a stronger emphasis on office attendance. According to the company’s internal communication:
“Our hybrid work model expects employees to work from the office for at least 10 days a month, or as per business requirements, whichever is higher.”

While Infosys has not officially commented on the policy update, insiders believe this shift is designed to enhance team collaboration and productivity.

Impact on Employees

The new system directly affects:
✅ Employees in job levels 5 and below, whose leave balances could be impacted by non-compliance.
✅ Teams expected to collaborate more effectively in an office environment.
✅ Employees requiring flexibility, as the policy still allows for some remote work.

As the IT industry continues to navigate the evolving post-pandemic work culture, Infosys’ approach aligns with other tech giants pushing for increased office attendance.
