Popular playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar has been hospitalised following an alleged suicide attempt at her residence in Hyderabad. Kalpana was found unconscious and was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where she is currently on ventilator support.
Incident Details
Concerns arose when members of her association noticed that her house had been locked for two consecutive days. Attempts to contact her went unanswered, prompting them to inform her husband, who was in Chennai at the time. After failing to receive any response, the association members alerted the police. A team arrived at her residence, forcibly entered, and discovered Kalpana in an unconscious state. She was swiftly transported to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Reports indicate that Kalpana had allegedly consumed sleeping pills. The police have confirmed that she remains on ventilator support as medical teams closely monitor her condition.

Kalpana Raghavendar is the daughter of the renowned playback singer T. S. Raghavendra. She gained widespread recognition after winning Star Singer Malayalam in 2010, which propelled her into the spotlight. Over the years, she has worked with legendary composers such as Ilaiyaraaja and A. R. Rahman.
Having started her singing career at the age of five, Kalpana has recorded over 1,500 songs across multiple languages. She even made a cameo appearance in the 1986 Kamal Haasan film Punnagai Mannan.
